Howardian Hills house renovation

This stone-built farmhouse was purchased by our clients and we were instructed to carry out a comprehensive renovation of the whole building, including conversion of an outhouse into a self-contained annexe.

The property had been previously repointed in unsuitable cement mortar and this had started to cause problems with damp and deterioration of the stonework. We carefully removed all the hard cement mortar and repointed the whole building using a traditional hot lime mortar.

Other works included:

  • Full strip and recover of the roof, including repairs to the structure
  • New plumbing and heating systems, including an overlay underfloor heating system to the first floor
  • New foul drainage system
  • New electrical and alarm systems
  • Fit-out including new kitchen and bathrooms
  • Bespoke joinery
  • Tiling and decoration
  • External landscaping
  • Window refurbishment
